1. WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are files of activity that allow the data controller to understand what activity has taken place, as users and customers, and it has the aim of building metrics about their use and the most visited content, commonly known as the “user experience”.
2. TYPES OF COOKIES
Cookies can be ranked into the following types:
Depending on who issues the cookies
- Our own cookies: These are the ones that are sent to the user’s computer from a computer or domain handled by the editor and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
Third-party cookies: These are the ones that are sent to the user’s computer from a computer or domain which is not handled by the editor but by another entity which processes the data obtained via the cookies.
Depending on the cookies’ life cycle
- Session cookies: These are temporary cookies that stay on the cookies file on your browser until you leave the website, and therefore none of them are registered on the user’s hard drive. The information obtained by way of these cookies helps to analyse traffic trends on the website. In the long run, this allows us to provide a better experience to improve the content and facilitate use.
- Permanent cookies: They are stored on the hard drive and our website reads them each time you visit. A permanent cookie has a specific expiry date. The cookie will stop working after that date. We generally use them to improve the purchasing and registration services.
Depending on the purpose for which the cookies are used
- Technical cookies: These are the ones that allow the user to browse on a website, platform or application and to use the different options or services that are available, like, for example, checking the traffic and notification of data, identifying the session, accessing restricted access areas, remembering the information in an order, making the purchase for an order, making an application to register or participate in an event, using security elements while browsing, storing content for publishing videos or sound or sharing content via social media.
- Personalisation cookies: These are the ones that allow the user to access the service with some general pre-determined features depending on a series of criteria on the user’s computer, like, for example, the language, the type of browser being used to access the service, the regional settings from where the service is being accessed, etc.
- Analysis cookies: These are the ones that allow the person responsible for them to track and analyse the behaviour of the website users that the cookies are linked to. The information gathered by these cookies is used to measure the website, application or platform activity and to create browsing profiles of the user on these sites, applications and platforms, in order to make improvements by analysing the usage data of those using the service.
- Advertising cookies: These are the ones that allow for advertising spaces to be handled in the most effective way possible which, where necessary, the editor may have included on a website, application or platform where the requested service is provided based on criteria such as edited content or the frequency with which adverts are shown.
- Behavioural advertising cookies: These are the ones that allow for advertising spaces to be handled in the most effective way possible which, where necessary, the editor may have included on a website, application or platform where the requested service is provided.
These cookies store information about user behaviour which is obtained by continuously observing their browsing habits, which allows them to develop a specific profile to show adverts depending on it. It is equally possible to visit a website or to open an email where an advert has been published or an offer about our products and services has been sent and a cookie has been installed on your browsers, which will help us to subsequently show you adverts related to the search that you have made, develop surveillance of our adverts in regard with, for example, the number of times they are seen, where they appear, what time they are seen at, etc.
3. RECORD OF USED COOKIES.
The data controller will make every effort to update this list as soon as possible for the new services that are being added to the website.
4. RECORD OF COOKIES FROM THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS.
Namely, the third party service providers whom we have contracted for a service which requires the use of cookies are:
5. OUR RECOMMENDATION.
If you wish, you can deactivate our cookies. However, if you do so, perhaps some functions will not work correctly or browsing may become more difficult. Therefore, we recommend that you keep them activated and you can delete them when you leave the website only if you wish.
A. How to delete cookies after browsing on our platforms
If you are using Google Chrome, access the “Delete browsing data” option on the “History” menu. A drop-down menu will appear where you can decide what information you want to delete, including the cookies.
If you are using Firefox, access the “Clean history” option on the “History” menu. A drop-down menu will appear where you can decide what information you want to delete, including the cookies.
If you are using Internet Explorer, access the “Delete browsing history” option on the “Tools” menu. A drop-down menu will appear where you can decide what information you want to delete, including the cookies.
If you are using the Android Chrome browser, access the “Security and privacy” option on the “Settings” menu. A drop-down menu will appear where you can decide what information you want to delete, including the cookies.
As you can see, the course of action is very similar for all the browsers and so if you are using a browser that is different to the ones mentioned, it won’t be difficult to find how to delete the cookie data. You can also configure your system to delete all the cookies automatically after each browsing session.
B. How to deactivate the cookies after browsing on our platforms
If, even after reading the previous recommendation, you still want to deactivate the cookies, you can ensure that your computer or device does not store our cookies. Below we will explain how to do it:
If you are using Google Chrome, access the “Personalise and control Google Chrome” menu (normally in the top right corner, just to the right of the address bar), click on the “Show advanced options” link and click on the “Content configuration” option. You will see the options available for the cookies.
If you are using Firefox, access the “Tools” menu (normally on the menu bar, just above the address bar), click on “Options” and click on the “Privacy” tab. You will see the available options.
If you are using Internet Explorer, access the “Tools” menu (normally in the top right corner, just to the right of the browsing tabs), click on the “Internet options” link and on the drop-down menu, click on the “Security” tab. You can choose one of the security levels that have been pre-determined by Microsoft or personalise your own level of security.
If you are using Android Chrome, access the “Settings” menu (normally in the top right corner, just next to the button that opens a new tab), click on the “Security and privacy” option and, on the drop-down menu, you can choose whether to accept cookies or not.
If you are using a different browser or platform, the process is very similar. In the help menus on each of them you will able to seek more information.
C. More information about the functionality, use and handling of cookies
Also, using your browser you can browse privately so that your system does not store unwanted information on your hard drive.
You can even see all the cookies that your browser stores on your hard drive, and if you wish, delete them one by one. For example, if your operating system is Windows 7 and you use Internet Explorer version 10, the cookies that this browser stores on its hard drive are usually located in the following folder: C:Users[NombreUsuario]AppDataLocalMicrosoftWindowsTemporary Internet Files.
Finally, you need to know that the majority of browsers inform you about how to avoid accepting new cookies, about how to be notified when receiving a new cookie and about how to completely deactivate the cookies. If you want to know more about how cookies work, we recommend that you check the “help” option that appears on the tool bars on your browsers (for example, if you type F1 on your Windows system, it will also take you to the help option).
If you would like more information about cookies, you can access the “Guide about the use of cookies” drafted by the Spanish Data Protection Agency.
6. MODIFICATIONS TO THE COOKIES POLICY.
The data controller is able to unilaterally modify the Cookies Policy, in the event that there is a change in the current legislation, the jurisprudential criterion or in internal criteria.
Any changes made to this policy will be published on this very website.
